STUDENTS will have the opportunity to get free tickets to a major cultural and intellectual festival taking place in Kensington.

The Battle of Ideas, a festival of social, political and cultural discussion, takes place on Saturday and Sunday October 27 and 28.

The event is organised by the Institute of Ideas and hosted by the Royal College of Art, Kensington.

The festival offers a choice of 70 debates, featuring over 200 international speakers on topics such as: should art change the world, is recycling a waste of time, and what is education for?

In a bid to encourage students under 18 to attend this year's festival, the Battle of Ideas headline partner, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), is offering a limited number of free 'Schools Champion' tickets to students.

The ESRC hopes that the offer will encourage school pupils to join the debate and grapple with some of the most challenging issues of our time.
